24th November 2011

Hi all,

Well if your garden's anything like mine, its just full of vegetables ready for eating, roses for picking and everything is growing like wildfire. Now's a great time to re-plant fresh crops of vegetables. Planting now or sowing seeds will ensure you have an ongoing supply of fresh vegetables this summer. The secret to success is regular feeding and watering. For effective watering use a sprinkler, simply plug it onto the hose, turn on the tap and leave to water. If you are going to be away or like me are just short of time then plug in a water computer and let it happen. Regular liquid feeding with Kings Fast Food and a good application of a quality slug and snail bait is all you need.

There's never been a better time to get stuck into the garden and spruce it up ready for the Christmas. If your looking for some advice, ideas or just some great bargains then we have it all. Our huge Summer Sale started this week and there's something for every one.

In Your Vegetable Garden
  • A favourite in my garden is Rhubarb. I have several plants in different areas of the garden and there is always stems for picking. Keep it well feed with Sheep Pellets and mulch regularly with Kings Organic Compost.
  • Ready To Eat Vegetables are harvest ready and perfect for planting in the garden or containers. They will add a fresh burst of flavour to your salads and cooking. There's a wide range available including Lettuce Tom Thumb, Rocket, Baby Spinach, Radish, Parsley and so much more.
  • Plant fresh herbs now and be prepared for those summer barbeques. If you're limited for space plant them up in containers with Kings Container Mix. Don't be without some of the old favourites like Parsley, Sage, Basil and Thyme.
  • If your looking for a different gift instead of the Soap on a Rope, then why not try a Mushroom kit. There's nothing better than being able to grow your own and pick them fresh as you need them. Whether you like  Portabello, Button or Oyster Mushrooms we have the kit you need. Great buying! Sale Price  Were $43.99 Now $34.99

In Your Flower Garden

  • Hippeastrum bulbs are instore now! Also known as Amarylis. Large trumpet blooms make a dramatic statement. Plant in a container and bring  inside when they are in flower. Whether it's a dramatic red or pure white they really are a special treat or gift.
  • If you like vibrant colour in the garden, then Salvia patens 'Blue Angel' would be a great choice. Electric blue, parrots beak shaped flowers cover this perennial. Use as a dramatic feature in a container or mixed in a border planting for colour.
  • Back in fashion, Hydrangeas have to be the best choice for any garden. Enjoy months of blooms from these prolific garden fillers. Remember Hydrangea colour can be enhanced with fertiliser. To keep the vivid blue shades, feed with Aluminium Sulphate and for the pinks, feed with Lime.

In Your Garden

  • Christmas is coming round quickly and this years living Christmas trees are now in stock. Pinus Joseph's Star - a compact form and have been hand clipped to encourage tight growth. Get in early as numbers are limited.

In Your Garden Shed

  • Looking for a gift for a keen gardener or handyman? Look no further!              Fiskars Multi Purpose Scissors, more than just your average scissors. Features include wire cutter, twine cutter, bottle opener and a power notch for cutting light rope. A bonus  sheath for covering blades is included. This has a tape cutter and sharpener attached. All this for just $29.99
  • Slugs and Snails are out in force at present. One of the best baits for controlling these is Baysol. Longer lasting, faster acting and you use less of it. Although it is more expensive than other slug pellets, the major benefit is that it will last for several weeks in wet weather or if you are watering a lot.
